HALF PHYSIOPAD – Carry it with you wherever you go
The SURE FOOT HALF PHYSIOPAD measures 12”x16”x1.5, packaged individually and is constructed like the FULL PHYSIOPAD. Comparatively it is half the length (two HALF PHYSIOPADS is the equivalent of one FULL PHYSIOPAD). It consists of 1” Hard material color-coded with Orange DuraFlex (stamped with the official SURE FOOT logo), and ½” gray colored Medium material. The HALF PHYSIOPAD is packaged with a Warranty Card registration form and QR code for immediate access to the SURE FOOT® Equine website for on-line product registration and education.
HALF PHYSIOPAD and the larger FULL PHYSIOPAD are the only SURE FOOT pads with a combination of two other Pads materials; Hard and Medium. Either surface may be used. The one-inch Hard side will give slowly, similar to the HARD Pad.
The Medium side has a different response from the Standard MEDIUM Pad – this layer is only a half-inch thick. It has a similar quality, but is not as springy as the standard pad, and does not challenge the horse’s balance. Instead it is simply a softer side, therefore PHYSIOPAD provides you with two very different surfaces which work extremely well as a single pad.
The HALF PHYSIOPAD is very useful as an introductory pad prior to using any of the Standard SURE FOOT Equine pads. It is a great choice to start with if you do not know the horse or are new to use yourself. Also, useful with horses unable to lift their hooves very far off the ground. It is a great choice for horses that are anxious or nervous when trailering (floating), or when at new venues. Better yet, the HALF PHYSIOPAD is travel size! As a bonus, the pad is also a comfy size for people – use it as a seat during sporting events, kneeling for work or gardening!
The PHYSIOPADS (originally called the Farrier Pad) were specifically designed for farriers and trimmers, to help horses stand in comfort without having to balance on a 2” thick pad or be have their balance challenged. A calm, quiet horse is easier to work with and requires less time. More importantly when the horse is comfortable, everyone is safer: horse, handler and hoof-care provider.
This double-sided pad has become a favorite with equine rehabilitation practitioners choosing to use it before or during treatments such as acupuncture, chiropractic, massage and myofascial release to maintain stability, or after a treatment to help the horse relax.
PHYSIOPADS are great for Equine Professionals to use as a treatment pad for the horse while standing to hold horses or kneeling especially on hard surfaces. This pad is designed to provide relief from standing for long periods of time.
Pads are suitable for use on any surface with horses that are shod, bare foot and/or wearing boots. Pads will show wear over time. Nicks, tears and cuts are considered normal wear and tear and do not limit the effects of the pads in any way.

“I am a firm believer in the SURE FOOT® Equine Stability Program. The Physiopad has helped several of my client’s horses and as a farrier I believe this in my business as well. I have used this on horses with side bone, navicular, founder and several other issues. Thanks for this product!” – Jeff Stubblefield, Master Farrier for 47 year
Warning: When introducing horses to the Physio Pad be sure they are not on cross-ties until it is clear the horse is comfortable with the pad.
Two Working Surfaces
Our exclusive proprietary DuraFlex surface coating is flexible, extending the life of the pads and can be easily cleaned with soap and water. The DuraFlex color allows you to easily identify the different pads at a glance.*
The foam used in the SURE FOOT pads is also used in products that protect some of the world’s top athletes and is exclusively available to us in these forms.
The SURE FOOT pads have been designed and tested by Wendy Murdoch, originator of the SURE FOOT® Equine Stability Program. They are safe to use around your horse, are made from environmentally friendly materials as much as possible, and are assembled here in the USA. You know it’s a genuine SURE FOOT pad because all of our pads carry the SURE FOOT® logo.
Pads are warranted against breakage (cuts, minor slices, dents or bites are considered normal wear and tear) and delamination of either the pad or DuraFlex coating. Do not leave your Firm pads in an enclosed car or trailer or direct sunlight for extended periods of time with the charcoal surface upward. Excessive heat may cause alterations in the foam. You may notice a permanent hoof impression on the uncoated side in high heat. This will affect the appearance of pad however it does not affect the pads performance.
You can learn more about the SURE FOOT Program and pads on-line.**
*When using the pads in a cold environment (below 40°F or 4° C) use the uncoated surface. The DuraFlex surface stiffens slightly in cold temperatures and may crack. This type of blemish does not affect the function or performance of the pad, simply the look.
Be sure to familiarize yourself with the SURE FOOT instructional video before starting this program with your horse. If there is any medical issues please consult your veterinarian before beginning SURE FOOT to be sure this program is right for your horse.
They are made of as much environmentally friendly material as possible, designed and tested by Wendy Murdoch, carry the official SURE FOOT Logo and are assembled in the State of Maine, USA.
Uses the same foam as the hard pads and is cut into a wedge shape providing an angled surface that fully supports the hoof while allowing for the experience of toe or heel loading.
Can be used with horses of any size, weight or breed. Variation in the pads density provides different degrees of firmness each providing a different experience for the horse.
Durability: The Official SURE FOOT pads have been designed and tested to hold up under the demands of use with horses in any environment. While they are not impervious to damage (tears and cuts) they will continue to service the horse even is somewhat damaged by the horse’s hooves. Therefore the benefits of the SURE FOOT program can be offered to the average horse owner for (in many cases) the cost of one shoeing. Offering the horse and horse owner a long-term use to aid in improvement of overall health.
Warranted against delamination of the DuraFlex coating and/or pad layers.
Stackable: SURE FOOT pads can be combined to stack layers generally two high but in instance three pads high. Stacking allows the person to give the horse an experience that matches the habit patterns in the body. Horses will not stand on stacked pads unless they wish to, you cannot force this on the horse as they will slip the pads to be lower if so desired. However, stacking allows the horse to experience limb differential and in many cases is beneficial to establishing a more normal, balanced posture and movement.
Pads can be use to benefit the horse pre-exercise, post-exercise, during a training session to improve and enhance performance, recovery from injury while stall bound or in limited movement, reset proprioceptors to reestablish normal patterns of movement, calming for any breed horse in any discipline, improve overall well being of horse and owner, improve relationship between horse and owner as the owner is recognized by the horse as the one who brought the comfort.
